As if, Dione.
Stacey Dash wants to eliminate Black History Month and the BET Awards.
The Clueless actress is a correspondent for Fox News and made the controversial statements on Fox & Friends.
Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee are both boycotting the Oscars due to the lack of minority nominees in major categories.
During the morning chat the 49 year old addressed the ongoing outrage by turning the tables on networks like Black Entertainment Television. She said it was a double standard to give away awards to largely black recipients.
“I think it’s ludicrous. We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”
And she took it a step further by saying the U.S. should get rid of Black History month.
BET responded on Twitter with a gallery. In it were some of her most recent controversies. One of them said “She thinks there needs to be a white history month too, since, you know, our ancestors apparently fought for nothing,” BET’s caption read. “Clueless indeed.”
