The girl from Ipanema has arrived and Gisele Bundchen made her final turn on the catwalk.

The famous supermodel did her strut to a piano version of the bossa nova song The Girl from Ipanema. Gisele is arguably the country’s most famous export and she stole the show as she catwalked across the floor the Maracaná.

Rumours surrounded if Mrs. Tom Brady would partake in the ceremony. There was a minor controversy earlier this week with reports that her appearance might involve a skit of her getting mugged. The scene was cut out and the ceremony’s directory, filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, told the Washington Post that the story got lost in translation and the scene was dropped because it QUOTE “wasn’t funny.”

The rest of the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony celebrated its creation, formation, individuals and its distinctive features.
