You may remember that moment form Back to the Future 2 when McFly put on his shoes with power laces. In 2015, Nike promises to release these kicks to the masses.
The first person to receive a pair was the star of the Franchise Michael J. Fox. Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield sent Fox a letter today that stated, “As the first, most celebrated wearer” of the Nike Mag shoes, “we wanted you to be the first to receive a living pair.”
Hatfield wrote that Nike is creating “more pairs for support in aid of the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2016.”
This is real. This is today. Coming spring 2016.
The shoes appear to have lights and make a noise when they lace up.
In the 1989 film, McFly time travels 30 years into the future to today’s date: Oct. 21, 2015. There, he discovers hoverboards, flying cars and self-lacing sneakers.
Alright so we got our hoverboards, power laces, now we just need our flying cars.
