The first footage from Marvel’s biggest and longest film yet, Avengers: Infinity War, has been leaked online before it’s official released. The trailer first appeared at D23 and then just now at San Diego Comic-Con’s Convention Centre Hall H.
Infinity war is set four years after Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. The three minute footage shows the Guardians of the Galaxy come into contact with Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Doctor Strange and a bevy of other Avengers. They are all forming a team to fight Thanes, who after years relying on others to collect the Infinity Stones for him, he finally decided to get the job done. In this movie it will show him trying obtain all six of these artifacts so that the can rewrite reality.
Avengers: infinity War is expected to release in May 2018. The epic three-part banner poster was also released.
Needless to say with all these superheroes there will be a lot packed into this story. Co-director Joe Russo says that by the time the movie is released in theatres, it will be 2 and a half hours long, if not longer.
So far the longest MCU movie is Captain America: Civil War at 147 minutes, and The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron follow close behind at 143 minutes and 141 minutes, respectively. Currently the longest superhero movie is Batman v Superman: Daw of Justice, which sits at 165 minutes.
Russo admitted that they had to “go big” on Avengers: Infinity War as they have to take 10 years worth of Marvel storytelling and put that into a unified narrative.
Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theatres on May 4, 2018. Do you think you can sit through a 2.5 hour long movie about superheroes? Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe. If you want to view the fancam link, head on over to my blog in the description below.
