Apple Music Sexist Remarks by Jimmy Iovine, Mary J Blige on CBS This Morning with Gayle King

According to Jimmy Iovine, women have a hard time finding music. That’s why he helped create Apple Music.

“So I always knew that women find it very difficult at times – some women – to find music,” Iovine said. “And [Apple Music] helps makes it easier with playlists — but they’re curated by real people. They’re not made by algorithms alone – they’re made by algorithms but with a human touch.”

Well, that was pretty much his thought process when he chose the story line for that amazing Apple commercial.

“I just thought of a problem. You know, girls are sitting around talking about boys, or complaining about boys, when they have their heart broken or whatever. And they need music for that, right? So it’s hard to find the right music,” he said.

Having Mary J Blige in my crew is the ultimate squad goal. I mean, she managed to keep her composure throughout his remarks.

But Twitter exploded.
Neko Case writes, “Dear Men, and I am completely serious.. I don’t think you think things as stupid as Jimmy Iovine says.”

The Coquette writes, “You guys, I made Jimmy Iovine a mixtape, all by myself!”
